WHAT DOES "SIDEWORK" MEAN?

Sidework is a nod to my time in the restaurant industry; it is all the work that is done throughout the shift to keep the restaurant working smoothly. It's not glamorous, or at the forefront of a dining experience, but it's essential to ensure a functional and enjoyable experience for all involved. 

I see therapy as the "sidework" of life; it doesn't have to consume everything you do, but it can be essential in making your daily life fulfilling and enjoyable.
